The Jaglot - Skardu road is a major link between the Karakoram Highway (KKH) and Skardu city. The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) completed the initial track construction for this passage in 1984. The length of the road is 164 Km having a 3.66 Meter width. The road is located in one of the most difficult terrains in the country which has intense snowfall, major threats for land sliding, and rock fall. The current upgrade of the Jaglot - Skardu road consists of increasing road width from 3.6 to 7.3 meters and reducing the sharp curves. This will in turn enhance the comfort of the ride for the travelers.
The Jaglot - Skardu Road project is being upgraded by the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) with the help of Jaffer Rental's Komatsu heavy machinery and power generation equipment:
